No other program like it

If you are a working hospitality professional with at least three years of management experience and a lot of ambition, this program was designed to fit your needs.

The College of Human Environmental Sciences at The University of Alabama has created a program unlike any other, because this level of executive training isn’t offered to baccalaureate students anywhere else. The Executive Restaurant and Hospitality Management Program is for adult part-time students who have full-time careers.

No other program allows you to continue working while offering you the best combination of independent study, prior learning, on-campus seminars and traditional coursework to complete your bachelor’s degree. You will have access to industry leaders, top instructors, fellow students and all the resources of The University of Alabama.

Why get a baccalaureate degree?

Improving Your Value
Imagine being able to make an impact in your company with the latest information and newest ways of solving problems. In fact, according to Ronald N. Magruder of Grayborn Restaurants, Inc. and former Chairman of the National Restaurant Association, "ongoing education about business and consumer trends, legislative issues and new ideas is more important than ever in today’s competitive marketplace."

Improving Your Finances
According to a Restaurants USA report, restaurant managers with college degrees earn more than those who don’t. In fact, among full-time workers, those with a bachelor’s degree earned $15,000 more than high school graduates.

Improving Yourself
You are a hard-working hospitality manager or supervisor, and you've always wonder what your life would be like if you had a bachelor’s degree. How far could you go? Now you can find the answer with a program designed just for you and your already-demanding schedule.

What you can expect

1. Flexibility and Choice
The Executive Restaurant and Hospitality Management Program lets you work at your own pace. You can also create schedules around your work and home life. You will even have a variety of choices for earning credit such as online courses, courses at other accredited colleges or schools which can be transferred, and credit for prior learning.

2. A Community of Learning
Though the program is distance learning, you will still have much interaction with fellow students. You will work directly with other students online and together you will be assigned case studies. This is an excellent opportunity to meet other people in the business and share ideas, problems, challenges and triumphs. You will also be a student of The University of Alabama, with all rights, privileges and excitement that goes along with being part of our university community.

3. Hands-on Learning
The online Restaurant, Hotel, and Meetings Management classes are a wonderful opportunity to challenge your thinking. The Executive Restaurant and Hospitality Management Program is the only program that offers this "Executive" level work to baccalaureate students. And, after each class you can implement the concepts you have learned in your own organization through Independent Seminar Projects.
"Our innovative hospitality programs, real world experiences, and industry contacts don't just set our program apart, they set our students apart!"
